The College will offer the University’s law students an exclusive opportunity to take their courses to prepare for the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination (SQE). For these students who are keen to go into legal practice based on the law of England & Wales, they now have a qualification pathway available for them.

The College of Legal Practice has been leading the way in preparing students for the SQE since 2021. They are an accredited, fully virtual law school registered with the Office for Students, with years of expertise in supporting students through every SQE assessment.

The College offers preparation courses for the SQE from £2,200 and a full LLM in Legal Practice for £7,245. Dundee’s students will benefit from a discount on these course fees following their study on the University’s LLB.

The Head of Dundee Law School, Professor Sarah Hendry, said:

“Dundee Law School graduates have been entering the legal professions in England for over half a century and are to be found in law firms across the sector, including Magic Circle Firms. With the change in the qualification route for solicitors in England & Wales, we are delighted to have entered this partnership with the College of Legal Practice. For our students who aspire to be solicitors in England & Wales after concluding their LLB studies, this is an excellent opportunity to prepare effectively for the SQE assessments.”

Dr Giles Proctor, CEO of The College of Legal Practice added:

“As the University in Scotland leading the way in supporting aspiring solicitors, this is a natural partnership. We are very pleased to be working with the University of Dundee and their students to ensure that they can achieve their career aspirations to become solicitors of England and Wales.”
