Legal education built for your organisation
Concerned about switching to the SQE? Well when it comes to the SQE, The College of Legal Practice is a safe and experienced pair of hands, supporting you every step of the way. Through the first years of the SQE, we have learned a lot. Firstly, we know that the preparation we provide closely replicates the SQE assessments, and as such, we are able to advise you and your students on the likelihood of them passing the SQE.
Here, we are not afraid to do things differently, we have designed all our courses specifically for the SQE, with no retro-fitted materials.
Most importantly, our approach to working with you and your colleagues centres on collaboration. We partner with progressive legal services organisations to build innovative SQE training programmes that work for you.

Getting your lawyers qualified
We can collaborate with you to create a SQE programme that meet the specific needs of your organisation. We provide the best platform to help your paralegals and trainees qualify and progress as legal professionals. Our Developing Legal Professionals Programme will both help prepare them to pass the SQE and develop the transactional and business skills and competencies they need to succeed in the industry.
Our Developing Legal Professionals Programme includes two modules that prepare students to pass the SQE, timed to be delivered in alignment with the SQE schedule as set by the SRA:
- Solicitors Legal Knowledge (SLK) – preparation for SQE1
- Solicitors Legal Skills (SLS) – preparation for SQE2
These modules can also be taken as part of a two- year graduate solicitor apprenticeship pathway, alongside qualifying work experience.
Our unique O Shaped: People & Business Skills module gives your junior legal professionals the key human and business skills that they need to succeed in your business.
As part of firm SQE programmes, your trainees can take elective legal skills modules, or build up to a full LLM in Legal Practice that both fully prepares them to pass the SQE and for work as a qualified solicitor.
Lastly, we offer Graduate Solicitor Apprenticeships for law and non-law graduates that take them through the SQE exams with additional coaching and support. These apprenticeships are fundable through the Apprenticeship Levy and cover both the training and exam costs for the SQE.

Acuity Law
Acuity Law are one of the first firms to offer a range of qualification routes that incorporates SQE preparation training for their trainees starting in autumn 2022. Training contracts include a SQE generalist and specialist trainee programmes, and a programme for non-law graduates.
The training provided by The College of Legal Practice integrates with the trainees’ work experience, giving trainees opportunities to start legal work within the firm before completing their SQE2 study and assessments.
“Acuity recognises the importance of creating more open and innovative pathways for candidates to join the legal industry and develop their careers in different ways. The “one fits all approach” of the traditional training contract limits both law firms and candidates and we want to break those traditional barriers."
