CFG Law and The College of Legal Practice are pleased to announce their new partnership to develop and support CFG Law’s trainees to qualify through the SQE. The College will provide preparation courses for the SQE to CFG Law’s trainees, as part of a professional development pathway for their aspiring solicitors.
CFG Law have always done things differently by bringing future trainees into the firm as paralegals prior to starting their LPC or training contracts. This new collaboration will continue this approach, with trainees mostly studying part-time for the SQE assessments alongside developing their professional and legal skills through working in the firm.
CFG Law have chosen The College of Legal Practice due to their shared values, their focus on each individual learner and the collaborative approach they take, shaping a proposition which works for each firm rather than a ‘one fit for all’ approach. They welcome the College’s refreshing and focused learning design centred on the SQE assessments. Their first group of SQE Trainees will be starting in Spring 2023.
CFG and The College will also offer a number of scholarship opportunities to trainees demonstrating their joint commitment to providing more opportunity and access to working for the firm.
Dr Giles Proctor, CEO of The College of Legal Practice, commented:
“We are delighted to be partnering with CFG Law, they take great care in developing their trainees, and we are enjoying working closely with them to develop a professional pathway that works for their firm and for each individual student. CFG Law’s focus on wider skill development, such as O Shaped Lawyer skills, is also something we welcome, so we can give trainees a strong platform for a successful solicitor career.”
Helen Riley, Head of People and Culture at CFG Law, added:
“We are excited to be working in partnership with The College whose values and ethos are very much aligned to ours, along with a shared commitment to developing a more holistic skillset for our future trainees”.
