Webinar: Debunking SQE Myths

Date: 23 April 2024

Time: 18:00 - 19:00

Since the introduction of the SQE, there have been a lot of misconceptions and misunderstandings around this new pathway to qualifying as a solicitor. For example, some people might think that the SQE pathway is easier than the old LPC route. Some might think that they have to gain their qualifying work experience in England and Wales, and they need to complete it before taking the SQE.

In this webinar, we will be joined by Kathryn Newton, the College's programme leader, and one of the College's SQE1 prep course students who will be debunking some of the most common SQE myths and helping you gain a better understanding of the SQE route in qualifying as a solicitor.

We will cover:

  • The College of Legal Practice
  • SQE assessments and pathway
  • Debunking SQE myths
  • Student experience sharing
  • The College's SQE prep courses
  • Q&A

We are co-hosting this webinar with The Lawyer Network CIC. The Lawyer Network focuses on encouraging diversity and inclusion within the legal profession, with a view to improving social mobility and making the profession more accessible to individuals from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds.
