Webinar: Empowering & supporting ethnically diverse students and junior lawyers

Date: 09 February 2024

Time: 12:30 - 13:30

This panel session takes a look at the experiences of ethnically diverse law students and junior lawyers. We will hear from three panellists and their experience of studying and working in the legal sector. The session aims to both equip aspiring solicitors who are ethnically diverse with knowledge and insight, and inform those who wish to be allies and offer support and guidance to enable progression in the sector.

This panel runs in Race Equality Week 2024 to highlight disparities in racial equity in the sector with a theme of #ListenActChange

The panellists are:

  • Bal Atwal, in-house solicitor, Council member at the Law Society representing junior lawyers
  • Ramsha Nayab, recently qualified solicitor and volunteer with the Muslim Lawyers Hub
  • Saima Haroon, 12-year qualified Solicitor with 16 years of experience in the areas of Litigation, Dispute Resolution, Industrial Disease, Personal Injury and Financial Mis-selling. Saima has had direct responsibility for the training and development of Trainee Solicitors, Law Graduates and Junior Fee Earners and is s Supervisor on the SQE prep Course

Please submit your questions to the panel when you register, so we can ensure that it is relevant for you.
